A fourth-grade student at Notre-Dame de Montauban college (Tarn-et-Garonne) had a heart attack during a sports class on Thursday, reports La Dépêche du Midi.
He was in the open air, near the gymnasium, when he collapsed on the ground. The Samu and the firefighters were alerted.
The 13-year-old teenager was in cardio-respiratory arrest when the emergency services arrived, who were able to restart his heart before transporting him urgently to the Toulouse University Hospital. His condition was still worrying on Thursday evening.
A psychological unit, intended for teachers and students, has been set up.
