Severed forearms, severed head and put in a plastic bag… This is the macabre discovery made by a couple of walkers on the departmental road 65 of the town of Albias about ten kilometers north-west of Montauban .
It was around 4 p.m. when firefighters were called on Friday, December 24. At the end of the line, a young couple of walkers say they found the headless body of a young man on the side of the road.
Two forearms and a head separated from the body
“The first findings of the forensic doctor who went to the scene the same evening revealed the presence of several stab wounds in the thorax and back, and put forward the hypothesis of a post-mortem mutilation of the body,” which remains to be confirmed by an autopsy, ”said Anne Gaullier, deputy prosecutor of Montauban to our colleagues at La Dépêche.
According to initial information, two forearms were found the same evening of what looks like a crime. They were located near the victim’s body. On the other hand, the head was found this Saturday, December 25 in the morning in a plastic bag about a hundred meters from the scene.
The trail of a privileged villainous crime
Despite the degraded state of the body, the corpse could be identified. “This is a 31-year-old man recognized by the courts for traffic offenses and thefts”, specifies Anne Gaullier.
So far, the heinous crime hypothesis is the most privileged on the table. In the meantime, justice has entrusted the investigation to the Toulouse research section and the Montauban research brigade.
“A criminal investigation was opened on the counts of murder and attack on the integrity of a corpse by the prosecution of the Montauban judicial tribunal, which entered into the Toulouse Research Section and the Montauban Research Brigade.
At this stage of the investigation, the hypothesis of a heinous crime is privileged, ”adds the deputy prosecutor.
