NEW DELHI, Sept 28 (Reuters) – Indian company Tata Motors on Wednesday launched an electric model of its popular Tiago with a retail price of 849,000 rupees ($10,860), making it the country’s most affordable electric vehicle .
Tata is the only automaker currently building electric vehicles in India.
The Tiago EV is significantly cheaper than the country’s second most affordable electric vehicle, the Tigor, a compact sedan made by Tata priced at around 15,640 euros.
