NEW DELHI, Sept 28 (Reuters) – India’s Tata Motors on Wednesday launched an electric model of its popular Tiago with a retail price of 849,000 rupees ($10,860), making it the country’s most affordable electric vehicle.
Tata is the only automaker currently building electric vehicles in India.
The Tiago EV is significantly cheaper than the country’s second most affordable electric vehicle, the Tigor, a compact sedan made by Tata priced at around 15,640 euros.
