Tatjana Patitz died on January 11, 2023. The Italian “Vogue” now honors the model with a cover.
The Italian edition of “Vogue” dedicated its February issue to Tatjana Patitz (1966-2023). The deceased model graces the cover. The black-and-white photograph, taken by star photographer Peter Lindberg (1944-2019), was taken in 1990.
“We were about to close the February issue when she suddenly passed away. ‘Vogue’ has always supported supermodels, she was one of the ‘Big Five’ of the 1990s and 2000s and worked with the photographers who wrote the story for that magazine So dedicating a cover to her quickly seemed like the right thing to do,” editor-in-chief Francesca Ragazzi said in a statement in an Instagram post is to read. Patitz died at the age of 56 from complications from breast cancer. In the ranks of supermodels
Patitz was born in Hamburg in March 1966 and was discovered by star photographer Peter Lindbergh when he was just 17 years old. In the 1990s, she herself became a star of the fashion world, graced numerous front pages and, alongside Cindy Crawford (56), Linda Evangelista (57), Christy Turlington (54), Naomi Campbell (52) and Claudia Schiffer (52 ) to the first so-called supermodels.
