The first part of the "Tatort" anniversary double episode attracted 9.54 million viewers to the screens. Very good, but not the top value for the year.

The first part of the double anniversary episode of the Sunday crime series "Tatort" attracted 9.54 million viewers to the screens on Sunday (November 29th, the first). This made "In der Familie I" (WDR / BR) the most watched program that day. "50 years of 'Tatort' – the television audience did not want to miss it! And so the first part of the double episode yesterday was a big all-German television family festival," said Volker Herres (60), program director for the first German television, on Monday Success.

He also thanked "everyone involved in front of and behind the camera" for the "so extraordinary anniversary 'crime scene'", which everyone can look forward to next Sunday (December 6th, 8:15 pm). "When you consider the difficult shooting conditions under which this double episode was created due to the corona, it is all the more gratifying that we can celebrate this anniversary in two parts", Herres also recalled the production conditions plagued by interruptions.

Not the best of the year

As well as the anniversary thriller performed, it is not the best of the year. The latest Münster "Tatort: Limbus" with Jan Josef Liefers (56) and Axel Prahl (60), which was broadcast on November 8th on the 1st, recorded 12.94 million viewers – the highest reach of the current year to date.

She went into hiding with her father Luca (Beniamino Brogi) and Pippo (Emiliano de Martino) in Munich. The hope that they can quickly travel on to Calabria is little consolation for Sofia. They are dependent on the Italian entrepreneur Domenico Palladio (Paolo Sassanelli), a high-ranking member of the 'Ndrangheta, who uses Pippo and Luca for his own purposes to whitewash drug money in the construction industry in Munich.

It doesn't take long for Pippo and Luca to make a mistake, through which the chief inspectors Ivo Batic (Miroslav Nemec) and Franz Leitmayr (Udo Wachtveitl) get back on track. Peter Faber (Jörg Hartmann) also has an account to settle. When Sofia can no longer suppress the desire to contact her mother, she becomes a danger for Palladio. A race for Sofia's life begins …
