The “Tatort” teams from Cologne, Münster and Dortmund are all celebrating milestone anniversaries this year. The WDR celebrates with a special.

25 years in Cologne, 20 years in Münster and 10 years in Dortmund: All three “Tatort” teams from North Rhine-Westphalia are celebrating milestone birthdays this year. WDR is honoring the three anniversaries with a “crime scene” week.

Strictly speaking, the “anniversary week” announced by WDR lasts almost two weeks, running from October 20th to November 1st, 2022.

The heart of the special programming is the documentary “The Crime Scene Secret” on Saturday, October 29 at 9:45 p.m. The report explores the question of why people in the West remain loyal to their “crime scene” investigators every Sunday. Not only fans have their say, but also the “Tatort” stars from Cologne, Dortmund and Münster.

Two new cases from Cologne and Münster

The long-lived Cologne cops Max Ballauf (Klaus J. Behrendt, 62) and Freddy Schenk (Dietmar Bär, 61) are investigating their new case for the 85th time. “Trail of Blood” airs Sunday, October 23 at 8:15 p.m. on Das Erste.

The latest Münster thriller will also be broadcast this fall. “A friend, a friend”, the 42nd film about Karl-Friedrich Boerne (Jan Josef Liefers, 58) and Frank Thiel (Axel Prahl, 62) celebrates its premiere on November 4th in the first.

Numerous repetitions in TV and media library

WDR shows the first case from Münster as a repeat. “The Dark Spot” from 2002 will be broadcast on WDR on Saturday, October 22 at 8:15 p.m.

Between October 22nd and November 1st, old cases from Cologne, Dortmund and Münster are broadcast on WDR almost every evening. Only on October 30th and 31st is “Tatort” broadcast break, at least on West German Radio.

During the anniversary week, the ARD media library will be available on demand for repeats of the WDR “crime scenes” at any time.

Actions on the network for the “crime scene” anniversary

On the “crime scene” homepage there is an additional accompanying program as part of the anniversary week. The WDR data team analyzes the descriptive texts of 1,200 episodes from 50 years of “Tatort” and shows how role models have changed over the decades.

In interactive tests, fans can also find out which “Tatort” character they are most like. There is also more information online about the films, picture galleries and quotes from the stars.
