Taurus Mycook Next: a 10-inch screen in a multifunction cooker

Already well established in the multifunction cooker sector, Taurus has recently added a new reference to its catalog: the Mycook Next. This connected food processor has a well-filled technical sheet: an induction heating system, an integrated scale and a large 10-inch touch screen.

Seen in the aisles of the IFA, the Taurus Mycook Next caught our attention thanks to its well-filled technical sheet. Indeed, this robot cooker exhibits a large 10.1-inch touch screen that serves guided cooking. While the slabs that equip robot cookers are usually located on the engine block and do not exceed 6 inches, Taurus is aiming wider by adding a touch pad (fully clamped) to roll out recipes step by step and control the process. ‘device. The few manipulations that we were able to carry out at the Berlin show revealed a slight lack of fluidity, but the erratic Internet connection of a show is probably not unrelated to this. The interface, even translated into German, seems quite clear, rather well organized and readable. To date, 500 recipes are directly integrated into Mycook Next and 2,000 are available from the application. The manufacturer ensures that the catalog should be enriched regularly thanks to the additions of the members of the community.

Induction heating and integrated scale

Taurus is very proud to be, to date, the only manufacturer to offer a robot cooker that combines both an induction heating system and an integrated scale. Indeed, today only the Magimix Cook Expert (which provides the fastest temperature rise in our comparison) offers induction heating but it comes with a scale as an additional accessory. Other devices on the market heat, for the most part, using a resistor. Taurus having patented this concept, there is no chance of seeing this combo develop on the market. The manufacturer’s scale is promised to be very accurate (to the nearest gram) and responsive; our measurements in the lab should allow us to validate these fine words.

The induction heating system allows temperature adjustment from 37°C to 140°C in steps of 1°C. As is also the case with the Thermomix TM6, a high temperature mode allows you to reach up to 160°C. In addition, there are 10 blade rotation speeds and 12 automatic programs: slow cooking, sous vide, steam, low and high temperature, kneading, simmering, searing, sautéing, steaming, etc.

To carry out all these functions, the MyCook Next relies on a bowl with a total capacity of 3.7 liters (including 2.5 liters useful): large families could wince at this capacity which should just be enough to treat 3 people or 4 small eaters.

The accessories supplied with this model are similar to those that can be found in any robot cooker box: a spatula, an interior and upper steamer basket on two levels (with a capacity of 5 liters) and a drummer.

Available from mid-October, the Taurus Mycook Next (produced and manufactured in Spain), will be marketed at €1,199. With this display of features, this robot cooker therefore covets the very elitist positioning of the most expensive models on the market.
