Taxes 2022: here is the deadline for filing your tax return


Although income tax is now levied automatically, taxpayers still have to file their declaration. And this before a deadline. Please note, there are only a few days left.

The online declaration campaign for income for the year 2021 opened on Thursday April 7, on the impots.gouv.fr website. And it will not be necessary to delay, under penalty of being inflicted a penalty of delay.

For those wishing to make their declaration in paper format, the deadline for filing is Thursday, May 19, at 11:59 p.m., the postmark being taken as proof.

On the Internet, the deadlines change according to the department of residence of the taxpayers. Thus, people whose main residence is located in the departments ranging from 01 (Ain) to 19 (Corrèze) have until Tuesday, May 24 at 11:59 p.m. to make their declaration.

The limit is then set to Tuesday, May 31, before 11:59 p.m. for departments ranging from 20 (Corse-du-Sud) to 54 (Meurthe-et-Moselle) and Wednesday, June 8, 2022 for departments ranging from 55 (Meuse) to 976 (Mayotte).

It should be noted that, from now on, all taxpayers whose accommodation is equipped with the Internet are obliged to make their declaration online. However, the administration is tolerant with those who believe they are unable to use the Internet.
