Taxes, energy checks, RSA, bank transfer… What changes for your budget on April 1st

Declaration of income, increase in social benefits, mandatory energy audit during a real estate sale will finally come into force. This month, too, the campaign to send energy checks will begin when certain weekends will complicate your transfers. MoneyVox summarizes the chances not to be missed.

Social benefits increased by 1.6%

Social benefits, including the RSA, the activity bonus and family allowances, will increase by 1.6% on April 1, announced on March 22, the Minister of Solidarity, Jean-Christophe Combe. Calculated from the average of the monthly inflation rates for one year, i.e. +5.6% compared to April 2022, the revaluation was weighted taking into account the 4% increase which had been granted in advance in July 2022.

The new RSA amount. Thanks to this boost, a single person will be able to perceive 607.75 euros of RSA from April 1st. The amount will go 911.62 euros with a dependent 1093.95 euros with two dependents and 1337.05 euros with three dependents. An increase of 243.10 euros is provided beyond per additional dependent.

For a couplewithout dependents, the amount of the RSA will be 911.62 euros. And it will pass 1093.95 euros for a couple with a dependent, 1276.26 euros with two dependents, and 1519.17 euros with three dependents. Again, 243.10 euros more are paid beyond per additional dependent.

Family allowances revised upwards. This social benefit is intended for families with at least two dependent children under the age of 20. Paid every month, the amount varies according to the number of children cared for, their age, but also the household’s resources.

So far and as shown in the table below, a household with two children with resources below 71,194 euros will receive 139.83 euros per month of family allowances, compared to 34.96 euros for a household with income above 94,893 euros.

From April 1, the increase should be around 2.24 euros for the former and 55 cents for the latter.

The activity bonus is also affected by the 1.6% increase, just like allowance for disabled adults (AAH) which will spend 971.37euros per month, education allowance for disabled children (AEEH) or even the birth bonus (1020euros).

Be careful with your Easter transfers

Be careful with your transfers! Monday, April 10, will be Easter Monday and transfers will not go through. The situation will be the same on Monday, May 1, the end of the month.

Energy check: 2023 shipments will begin

The 2023 energy check will be sent from April 21 to 5.8 million households. This social assistance between 48 and 277 euros will be distributed automatically by mail to 20% of the poorest households. To obtain it, you need a reference tax income per consumption unit (RFR/UC) of less than 11,000 euros in 2021.

Wood heating: one more month for the aid of 200 euros

It’s (almost) over for the fuel allowance and the fuel oil check, but to claim the 200 euros for the wood check, the deadline extends until the end of April. A platform on line is intended for the 2.6 million households that heat with wood.

To connect, only the tax number used to declare your income is requested as well as a firewood bill of a minimum amount of 50 euros, dating from less than 18 months. A specific certificate is required for households that have collective wood heating.
