The circumstances of Taylor Hawkins’ death are becoming clearer. This Saturday, March 26, the Foo Fighters announced the death of their drummer, only 50 years old. The body of the musician was found inanimate in his room at the Casa Medina Hotel in Bogota, just hours before he went on stage at the Estéreo Picnic Festival. “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely passing of our dear Taylor Hawkins.announced the rock band in a statement posted on Twitter. His musical spirit and contagious laughter will live with us all forever. Our thoughts are with his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect at this incredibly difficult time.”
A few hours after this disappearance which shocked the world of music, the first elements were revealed. In particular the toxicology report, which shows that Taylor Hawkins had taken about ten substances before dying. “Taylor Hawkins Body Urine Toxicology Test Preliminarily Found 10 Types of Substances, Including: THC, Tricyclic Antidepressants, Benzodiazepines, and Opioids,” unveiled Colombia’s attorney general’s office in a statement posted on Twitter. If there is little doubt about the overdose thesis, investigations are still underway to determine the exact causes of the death of the Foo Fighters drummer.
Taylor Hawkins explained living a “healthy life”
“The National Institute of Forensic Medicine is continuing studies to fully clarify Taylor Hawkins’ cause of death,” the statement continues. The Attorney General’s office is also continuing its own investigation. Taylor Hawkins began his musical career as the drummer for Alanis Morissette before joining Foo Fighters following the departure of his predecessor. “I rushed to get Dave’s number (Grohl, ex-drummer of Nirvaga who founded the band, editor’s note) and I called him”he confided. In 2001, Taylor Hawkins spent two weeks in a coma after surviving a heroin overdose. The drummer told Rolling Stone to lead a “healthy life” in June 2021.
