Taylor Swift, 34, has set new records in Germany with her new album “The Tortured Poets Department”, according to the Official German Charts, determined by GfK Entertainment.

Accordingly, “TTPD” is the best-selling album by a solo act in one week in Germany in seven years. It is also the best-selling album by an international act in a week in two and a half years and had the best album opening week ever in two years.

Even the old rockers Pearl Jam couldn’t come close, having to take second place behind Taylor Swift with “Dark Matter”. This week’s bronze goes to rapper Marteria, 41, who placed his alter ego Marsimoto’s farewell album “Keine Intelligence” in third place. Mark Knopfler, 74, and Pink Floyd complete the top 5 with the albums “One Deep River” and “The Dark Side Of The Moon”.

Artemas continues to reign supreme in the singles charts

In the German single charts, Taylor Swift has not yet been able to catch up with the social media hit “I Like The Way You Kiss Me” by Artemas, which remains at number one. Only then does Swift come with her single “Fortnight”. In third place is Benson Boone, 21, with “Beautiful Things”, and in fourth place is Cyril with “Stumblin’ In”. Something new has happened in 5th place compared to the previous week: Jaxomy, 28, and Agatino Romero, 32, are new in the top 5 with their remix of Raffaella Carràs (1943-2021) “Pedro”.
