New album, European tour: Taylor Swift is once again very busy at work. There’s probably no time for the Met Gala in New York.

Taylor Swift (34) will probably not attend the Met Gala 2024 after all, but will concentrate on her upcoming tour through Europe. That reports the American “People”. It had previously been said that the singer would come to the event in New York.

The Met Gala always takes place on the first Monday in May – this year on May 6th. That’s just days before Swift’s European debut in Paris on May 9th. According to “People”, the pop star would rather rehearse for it and focus on continuing her Eras tour. The 34-year-old has already been a guest at the Met Gala six times, but her last appearance there was a few years ago (2016). Her boyfriend Travis Kelce (34), however, has never been to the fashion event – and probably won’t come without Taylor Swift.

Swift once again occupies all of the top 10 spots

The multiple Grammy winner has a lot to do. Her new album “The Tortured Poets Department” was released on April 19th and promptly set a new chart record. On April 29th announced Billboard, that she has once again occupied every place in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 – as well as places 11 to 14. “You have outdone yourself,” the singer wrote about this in her Instagram story and added: “This is incredible.” She had already achieved this feat in 2022 after the release of her album “Midnights”.

Even if Taylor Swift will be missing, there will once again be many celebrities to admire in extraordinary gowns at the Met Gala in New York’s Metropolitan Museum. This time the motto is “The Garden of Time” and is inspired by a 1962 short story by the writer James Graham Ballard (1930-2009). The story is about a count and countess who live “in their utopia of leisure, art and beauty”. According to Vogue, the stars will pay homage to flowers, music and time with their outfits. Rihanna (36) will be among them again.

Rihanna wants to appear “very simple” this time

The singer has often caused a sensation with her unusual looks – such as her yellow fur look in 2015 and her pink floral dress in 2017. What is all the more surprising is her announcement that she will appear less conspicuous this time. “I’m actually keeping it simple this year,” she said Interview with “Extra”. She has two dresses to choose from. “I think it will depend on what my makeup and hair does.”

In addition to “Vogue” editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (74), Latino rapper Bad Bunny (30), actor Chris Hemsworth (40), musician Jennifer Lopez (54) and actress Zendaya (27) are co-chairs of the gala this year.
