Taylor Swift: Why her feud with Kanye West is now rekindled

Almost four years after Kanye West (42) threw it in his song "Famous", the feud between rapper and pop singer Taylor Swift (30, "Lover") takes a new turn: a recently revealed video shows the full phone call of the two artists by discussing the lyrics. "I have a feeling that Taylor and I might still have sex. Why? I made the bitch famous," rapped West at the time, causing the anger of the award-winning singer.

What is the "Famous" feud?

The rapper has always claimed that Swift had agreed to the song on the phone. His wife Kim Kardashian (39) released several videos on Snapchat in 2016, proving that there had actually been a conversation between the two artists. The singer was then accused of dishonesty; especially West fans shot hard against the musician. However, Swift claimed that she had never agreed that West could call her a "bitch" – West had not discussed this line with her.

Swift's side of the story appears to be proven by the full recording of the conversation that has now emerged. Again and again the rapper assures her in conversation that the song contains no meanness or derogatory lyrics about her. As her "friend", it matters to him what Swift thinks about the song and that he doesn't hurt her feelings, West claims. "That is very sweet of you," replies the singer, admitting unsuspectingly: "I was afraid that you would call me a stupid bitch."

It all started with the MTV Video Music Awards

However, the "Famous" feud was not the first conflict between the self-proclaimed rap god and the pop princess: When Swift was awarded the prize for best video at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009, West stormed onto the stage and broke the microphone itself. He believed that it should not be Swift but Beyoncé (38) who should have won the award – a moment that should connect the two artists forever.
