Tchibo now sells caravans – FOCUS Online

Leisure vehicles – caravans and mobile homes – sold like hotcakes in the first Corona year 2020. While air travel was hardly possible or at least extremely time-consuming, individual freedom flourished on (mobile home) bikes. The camping industry believes that this will also be the case in 2021.

“Vacation to Go” with mini campers

The coffee roaster Tchibo, which recently entered the auto business, is now adding two caravans to its range. However, they are so small that they are not exactly suitable for family vacations, but rather for a camping trip for two.

The “Kip Shelter” weighs little more than half a ton, so it can even be pulled by an electric car that is unsuitable as a towing vehicle. The 4.7 meter long mini camper has a two meter long bed, should be suitable for winter thanks to insulation and costs 12,950 euros. At 4.12 meters, the even more compact “Mink 2.0” for 18,280 euros has a panoramic roof, a built-in battery for power supply and an outdoor kitchen. For a surcharge there is a small heating system operated by a diesel generator and a solar system.

Traveling in Germany remains complicated

Before travelers pack their bags, they should inquire about the 7-day incidence at the destination. Regions with an incidence of over 100 should generally be avoided by vacationers. The hard lockdown, known as the federal emergency brake, continues to apply there. The measures in force could spoil travelers’ vacations. Read more about this here. After all: with a caravan you can change location quickly if necessary.
