TCL 55C735 vs Hisense 55U7HQ duel: the clash of the best entry-level 4K TVs

Recently, two 4K 120 Hz televisions with very competitive price positioning opposed each other in a duel. These models boasting a very good quality/price ratio – without being free from any reproach, far from it – have very different strengths and weaknesses on which we have arbitrated to allow you to make a choice.

These two good references, with identical dimensions and definition (55 inches for 3840 x 2160 pixels), do not have the same screen technology. If TCL opted for a VA panel, Hisense decided to turn to an IPS panel with a shallower contrast. The latter nevertheless makes up for it with much better viewing angles, giving it the advantage of being more “friendly” than its rival. But the most important remains the image quality, it is TCL which is essential in this field. If the transcription of the colors is faithful, the red handicaps Hisense. Delight the eyes and ears

Despite their similar dimensions, the two TVs still have some differences in terms of ergonomics. If both are quite imposing, with a foot that complicates the installation of a sound bar, it is once lit that the specifics are obvious. Presenting a better responsiveness and a faster ignition, the Hisense however sins by its operating system. Indeed, TCL hosts the Android OS while Hisense has its own system, drastically reducing the number of features (applications, cast, etc.) The two TCL remote controls are also added to the equation weighing down the balance, once again, on his side.

To the pleasure of the eyes is added that of the ears. And on this point, there is no photo. TCL has delegated its audio part to Onkyo, a specialist in the field, to equip its television with two 10 W speakers, also compatible with Dolby AC4, Dolby True HD and Dolby Atmos. But once the volume is a little too high, the limits are reached and the bass disappears. Hisense doesn’t do any better on its side, equipping the 55U7HQ with in-house tech that doesn’t make the cut, with cavernous sound and no bass.

At the end of this duel, it is finally the TCL 55C735 which wins despite real weaknesses. Ultimately, the areas that matter most to a TV are better at TCL than at Hisense.
