TCL is best known for its televisions and mobile products. So when the brand announces a laptop under Windows 11, it is still a product that respects its heritage.

The TCL Book X12 Go is actually a 2-in-1 tablet like Microsoft’s Surface. It is a tablet to which a keyboard is attached to transform it into a laptop. A style is also provided for taking notes on the touch screen.

A screen close to paper?

Like the Android tablet also presented at CES 2023, this product incorporates an NXTPaper screen which must offer the same sensations as paper, in particular when using the stylus. TCL also promises very low blue lights for easier reading.

For the rest, this product has the particularity of using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 chip. It is therefore a PC running with the ARM version of Windows 11. No x86 chip from Intel or AMD here.

The Qualcomm SoC will be supported by 4 to 8 GB of RAM and 128 to 256 GB of storage. An SD card reader should help expand storage.

On the connectivity side, TCL does the minimum with Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 and a single USB-C port. The 30 Wh battery shouldn’t make it a battery life record either.

TCL promises marketing for the current of the year 2023, without specifying the asking price.
