TCL multiplies the technologies on the washing machines of the P2 series

During the presentation of its new products, TCL unveiled a new range of washing machines soberly called P2. And the least we can say is that the manufacturer has not skimped on embedded technologies.

It was during its showcase held earlier this week that the Chinese TCL unveiled its new catalog of washing machines. This series stamped P2 is characterized by devices equipped with a wide range of technologies. Emphasis has been placed on steam functions which will make it possible to sanitize the linen in depth but also to refresh it in just 25 minutes, without consuming too much water. Steam also makes ironing easier. Indeed, at the very end of the cycle, a jet of steam softens the fibres.

The P2 series washing machines are also equipped with an automatic detergent dispenser, like the one that equips more expensive models like the Samsung Quickdrive WW90T986DS. The manufacturer promises that this feature makes it easier to manage detergents in order to use the right amount. Because if the under-dosing harms the washing of the clothes, it is also the case of the over-dosing which leads, moreover, to more significant releases of polluting products in nature.

More original, the FP1024WC0FR (and the other references in the P2 range) has a cleaning system for the rubber sleeve between the window and the drum. At the end of the cycle, water is sprayed on this flexible part to eliminate foam and detergent residues that could cling to it (Spray Wash technology). The manufacturer does not specify whether the jets of water are powerful enough to get rid of the fibers that are often found in the groove of this joint.

To spin the drums of its washing machines, TCL has chosen brushless motors. These are promised to be less energy intensive, less noisy and less fragile than conventional motors. As is already the case with the vast majority of washing machines on the market, the maximum spin speed reaches 1,400 rpm.

The programming is carried out using the combination of a wheel (to select the basic cycle) and sensitive keys to modify the various parameters such as the water temperature, the spin speed or the delayed start. Despite its Premium side, it is not possible to pair the FP1024WC0FR with a smartphone to program it remotely, monitor the quantity of detergents or even establish an initial diagnosis following a malfunction.

For the moment, only the FP1024WC0FR with a capacity of 10 kg is available at the reasonable price of 649 €, taking into account the services. Nevertheless, it is very likely that 9 kg (under the reference FP0924WC0FR) and 8 kg (FP0824WC0FR) versions will soon be marketed, at prices of 599 and 549 €.
