On the occasion of MWC 2022, the Chinese manufacturer TCL is renewing its entry-level by unveiling five new models attached to its 30 series. Their prices range from 139 to 249 euros.

Seven models. This is what TCL’s 30 series now counts with the brand’s addition of five new affordable smartphones to its entry-level. As reported Engadget, all benefit from some interesting specifications despite a very contained price placement. They rely on an OLED screen, a 50 Mpx rear photo sensor and a 5,000 mAh battery.

Smartphones for all budgets…

The MWC is therefore an opportunity to discover the TCL 30 5G (249 euros), TCL 30+ (199 euros), TCL 30 (179 euros), TCL 30 SE (149 euros) and TCL 30 E (139 euros). Only the 30 E, the most affordable model, ignores a triple rear photo module doped with AI, to be satisfied with a double module. On the other hand, we learn that the TCL 30 5G, TCL 30+ and TCL 30 will be able to benefit, unlike the TCL 30 SE and 30 E, from 18 W fast charging.

To go into a little more detail on the specifications announced, the most “premium” model of this new range, the TCL 30 5G, is adorned with 5G compatibility, an ultra-wide-angle front camera and a large Full HD+ AMOLED display (60 Hz). The device is otherwise powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage (expandable via micro SD).

A little more affordable, the TCL 30+ and TCL 30 have the same characteristics, but without 5G and with a slightly less efficient MediaTek Helio G37 SoC. The TCL 30 also ignores the ultra-wide-angle front camera of its big brother. Engadget finally notes that the TCL 30 SE and 30 E are content for their part with a smaller screen (6.52 inches) and an even slower MediaTek Helio G25 SoC.

… with a tablet like no other as a bonus

TCL also announced a new tablet: the NXTPAPER MAX 10 (10.36 inches). The latter resumes the screen “ paper like introduced last year by TCL with its 8.88-inch NXTPAPER. This low-power reflective screen is designed to reuse natural light and therefore does not require a backlight, assures the brand. Notably, it’s supposed to offer a smoother-on-the-eyes display experience.

This new tablet has a MediaTek MT8788 SoC, a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie sensor. Moreover, it has 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as an 8000 mAh battery. Announced at 269 euros in Europe, the NXTPAPER MAX 10 will debut on the market in Asia during the second quarter of 2022 without further details.
