A terrible tragedy has occurred at Saint Jean de Luz this Wednesday, February 22. A 16-year-old student stood up in the middle of Spanish class to stab his teacher in the chest, whom everyone hailed for her sunny and dedicated personality. This most chilling act thus happened in front of his oh so shocked comrades, some of whom testified. After being heard, the teenager was held criminally responsible. The doctor who examined him recognized an anxious and depressive state but nevertheless not a mental illness. From now on, the investigation is therefore moving towards a premeditated murder.
The 16-year-old’s parents have yet to speak publicly, but RTL was able to speak with his grandparents. The latter spoke of the current state of the parents of the young suspect, and could not hold back their tears. A burdensome situation for the family of the young man.
The teenager’s grandmother “They are desperate”
While RTL spoke with the grandparents of the suspected student, the journalist found them on the doorstep, welded and united in pain, the grandfather’s arm on the shoulders of his woman, to support her. They moved in with their son in order to help her somehow in this situation, as well as their daughter-in-law. The latter have not yet had the strength to speak publicly about the behavior of their 16-year-old son, and the act committed.
On the current condition of her son and daughter-in-law, the grandmother said in shock: “They are desperate. Understand their pain, they are in a terrible state“, she lamented. The grandfather added: “We don’t understand. You can’t imagine our pain, it’s our grandson, it’s too hard“. RTL describes a grandmother who could not hold back her tears and a grandfather with a lost gaze. One cannot imagine their pain and dismay in the face of the situation. And even less that of the relatives of the victim who, unfortunately, is no longer there to express themselves. This drama will leave many traces in the lives of many people.
