A year after being ousted from the presentation of Z’amours, the host Tex returned to this case during TPMP People this Saturday, February 19. And the latter defended himself in a way… very surprising.
Almost two decades after starting to present Les Z’amours, Tex was ousted from his post following a sexist joke that caused a huge uproar. Then, one thing leading to another, France Television decided to completely remove this program from its schedule after replacing Tex with Bruno Guillon until August 21, 2021. The Z’amours had nevertheless continued during the trifle of 26 years on the public service , first with Jean-Luc Reichmann at the helm, after being replaced by Patrice Laffont. But the issue reserved for couples is now history.
Now 100% devoted to the smooth running of his show, Tex’s television appearances are becoming increasingly rare. And, inevitably, each time he goes for an interview, the 61-year-old former French presenter is asked about his ousting from Z’amours. The least we can say is that the latter has still not digested the decision of his former employer, France Télévisions. Thus, on November 15, 2021, he declared: “I haven’t recovered from this trauma yet because between injustice, censorship, denunciation, abuse of power and freedom of expression, we must continue to live”.
Tex: “We don’t make jokes by chance”
Invited to the Touche set not at my People post this Saturday, February 19, Tex was again questioned on the issue by Matthieu Delormeau, following a debate on freedom of speech and censorship on television between his columnists . If he still has not made his mea culpa, Tex has agreed to come back to the question, ensuring that he fully assumes all the jokes he may have made throughout his broadcasts. : “The jokes we make all have, more or less, an educational aspect. We don’t make jokes by chance. When there is something that is hot, we have to go there. Let’s hurry up and laugh at serious things before we have to cry.”
