Team17’s turnover exceeded the 100 million euro mark in 2021

The results published by Team17 for the year 2021 show a turnover of 107 million euros and a net profit of 28 million euros, against 98 million and 26 million for the year 2020. A considerable performance given that 2020 presented exceptionally high figures for many players in the video game market due to the confinements. Team17 had also released no less than 12 games in 2020 and repeated this performance by releasing another 12 titles in 2021, not counting the ports of 4 games on new platforms. That said, new products represent only 23% of the turnover for the year against 77% for the back catalog.

The year 2021 was marked in particular by new acquisitions such as that of the Hell Let Loose and Golf With Your Friends licenses or even the German Astragon Entertainment. In a much less positive register, Team17 was also the subject of a recent investigation into its working conditions in which several employees denounced the lack of internal communication, the race for quantity rather than quality or even friction over overtime and bonuses. In order not to change, employees also say they have lost confidence in the ability of the human resources department to do what is necessary when complaints are filed, in particular for sexual harassment.

We all have a fantastic opportunity together to build a remarkable group and I am delighted to say that we have achieved another year of growth, which is a testament to the contributions of all our people across the group and the success of our content portfolio in full expansion“, says Deborah Bestwick, CEO of Team17. At the end of 2021, Team17 employs 265 people compared to 250 people a year earlier.
