Microsoft will offer a new way to introduce yourself in video calls in the coming weeks.

Teams will offer its avatars in May 2023
We knew Snapchat’s Bitmoji, which allow you to respond to loved ones via a personalized avatar. Meta has also developed its own avatars, available both on Messenger and now on WhatsApp to bring a playful side to its various exchanges.
Microsoft is the latest to offer its own avatars, which will soon be available through its video conferencing software, Microsoft Teams.
The editor explains that these avatars will allow users who do not necessarily wish to activate their camera during a meeting, to be present despite everything by means of an animated representation. The avatars have a look close to the cartoon and are customizable by each user to approximate their facial features or their corpulence, or on the contrary to create a different version of themselves.
Microsoft has also designed reactions taking advantage of these avatars to give its opinion or answer a question with a click, by reacting its avatar live during the conversation.
The avatars will land in Microsoft Teams from next May, and will be available through the web, the desktop application and the mobile versions of the famous videoconferencing service.
Video filters to bring a little fun to your conversations
Microsoft Teams is also enriched with a new option allowing to bring a little more originality to its exchanges with its colleagues, namely the video filters.
The software already made it possible to replace the wallpaper with artificial intelligence devices for all those who do not wish to share a view of their interior. Video filters work in a different way and allow you to integrate animation, such as an animated banner that looks like something out of a TV show, or 3D effects.
System administrators keep control of this feature and can disable it for all employees in a company or organization to avoid potential distractions.
