Techland is hard at work on an open-world fantasy action-RPG

And there will be no question of a Dying Light 3 in the immediate future because the watchword of this new open-world action-RPG is “build a whole new world” in a fantastic setting. As has become a recent habit, Techland’s objective in raising awareness about this project so early is to arouse the curiosity of talent so that it can strengthen its workforce. “Despite the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human this year and its intense production last year, Techland has continued to develop its next game, and now is the best time to significantly expand its team.“, explains the press release.

The concept of the game has been in Techland’s mind for a long time. Karolina Stachyra, who worked on the quests and dialogues for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, notably joined the studio in 2016 to work on this title as director of narration. In recent months, Techland has started to recruit veterans to strengthen the team of this new license.

Among these reinforcements are Bartosz Ochman, director of the open world who has already worked on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, Mario Maltezos, creative director who worked notably for Ubisoft (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) and Warner Bros. Games (Mad Max), David McClure, chief designer previously associated with Arkane Studios (Deathloop) or even Kevin Quaid, chief animator who worked for Guerrilla Games (Killzone Shadow Fall, Horizon Zero Dawn).

Note that this project does not call into question the additional content and other updates that Techland plans to offer to Dying Light 2 Stay Humanthe objective being to supply the latter for at least five years.
