Technip Energies: agreement with Uniper for CO2 capture

(CercleFinance.com) – Technip Energies announces that it has been selected by Uniper to provide a process design package (PDP) for the post-combustion carbon capture project of the combined cycle gas turbine power plant ( CCGT) from the Isle of Grain, in the south-east of England, to capture more than 2 million tonnes of CO2 per year.

The contract covers the design of the process for the installation for capturing, conditioning, liquefaction and temporary storage of CO2 which will then be transported by boat or pipeline to a permanent storage location, off the seabed.

In this first phase, Technip Energies will provide a single solution capable of being applied to each of the three gas turbines, leveraging the proven Shell CANSOLV CO₂ capture system, as well as the licensing expertise of Technip Energies and its deep experience in project execution.

With a view to a final investment decision in the mid-2020s, the next step for Technip Energies, if selected, will be to provide the full full front-end engineering design (FEED) for the project.
