PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The engineering and technology group for the energy industry Technip Energies announced on Wednesday that it has been selected, within a consortium, to carry out an engineering study of detailed engineering design (FEED) for a floating offshore wind farm project in South Korea.

The contract awarded to the consortium, which also includes the Norwegian group Subsea 7 and the Korean company Samkang M&T, covers the engineering of the float, mooring and wiring (IAC) in collaboration with a turbine manufacturer, indicated Technip Energies in a communicated. The financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

“Technip Energies’ INO15 float technology will be incorporated into the design of the floating foundation,” the group said.

The contract was awarded by energy producer TotalEnergies and investment firm Corio Generation for the Ulsan Gray Whale 3 project, which aims to develop a 504 megawatt (MW) floating offshore wind farm located approximately 60 to 70 kilometers of the metropolis of Ulsan, in the south-east of South Korea, indicated Technip Energies.

The Gray Whale 3 project is one of three offshore wind projects that Corio Generation and TotalEnergies are developing off the coast of Ulsan for a total installed capacity of 1.5 gigawatts, added Technip Energies.
