Tekken 8 formalized on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC by a first trailer opposing Jin to Kazuya

As an introduction to the PlayStation State of Play of this Tuesday evening, these are two mythical fighters that we found facing each other. Yes, Sony Interactive Entertainment and bandai namco just made it official tekken 8 with a striking first glimpse that already sells dreams.

the teasing of the’EVO 2022 was therefore good for this new episode designed under Unreal Engine 5, since we find Kazuya Mishima facing Jin Kazama in the rain, with rumbling thunder. More realistic and visceral than ever, this taste of the gameplay that we should find in tekken 8 has everything to make you dream, even more when Devil Jin manifests !

Katsuhiro Harada said the following regarding tekken 8 on the PlayStation-Blog :

Hello everyone, I’m Harada, production manager of the Tekken project. After a long wait, we can finally announce that Tekken 8 is in production. Have you seen the first trailer?

The trailer is actually directly taken from a story mode passage of the game under development, captured on PlayStation 5. In other words, the characters, settings and effects that you see are the same that are used in the game. Although the images are taken from the Story mode, this is not a pre-rendered video designed specifically for the trailer, but many sequences rendered in real time and at 60 fps, as you might see them in-game in Versus mode. (Of course, some effects and dialogue as well as the camera angle are still being improved and may change between now and the game’s release.)

The Tekken series is famous for the spectacular pre-rendered scenes of its Story mode. And there are so many things about this new opus that we would like to tell you about. However, we preferred to focus this very first announcement on the quality of the game by showing you images of Tekken 8 on PS5.

You must have noticed it while watching the trailer, whether through the brand new playable characters or in the small details, like the drops that bead on their skin: Tekken 8 offers an incomparable level of quality, well above that offered by Tekken 7. These are not images created exclusively for the trailer, but rather a real-time rendering of what is happening on the screen during gameplay.

Also, if you look closely at the background during the fights, you can see raging waves and tornadoes, a gigantic oil tanker breaking in two, or a storm so realistic you can feel the force of the wind and the falling rain.

All these different effects are used in the combat arenas of this opus. Of course, we are continuing our efforts to push quality even further. In the latest version of the build under development, the level of quality increases significantly day by day, and we can see for example the tanker getting closer to the coast in the background as well as imposing flames dancing near the character . We hope you like all these effects!

The Tekken series also holds the record for the longest video game history. As the end dialogue of Tekken 7 hinted, this new installment will focus on the confrontation between Kazuya Mishima and his son Jin Kazama. As for the meaning of the scene you saw in the trailer and its importance in the main story… you’re going to have to wait until the game releases to find out.

As the game is still in development, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a little longer.

The entire development team is working tirelessly to ensure that this new opus lives up to your expectations, and thank you warmly for your support.

tekken 8 although it was unveiled at sonyit will also be released elsewhere, since it is planned for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam).
