Telefónica: creation of Bluevia Fibra with Crédit Agricole


(CercleFinance.com) – The Telefónica group and the consortium, Crédit Agricole Assurances (‘CAA’) and Vauban Infrastructure Partners have entered into an agreement for the creation of Bluevia Fibra, a platform dedicated to the marketing and deployment of a fiber network ( FTTH) in Spain mainly in rural areas.

CAA/Vauban will invest a total of €1,021 million, valuing 100% of Bluevia at €2,500 million. Following the transaction, Telefónica Group will retain 55% of the capital of Bluevia. The CAA/Vauban consortium will hold the remaining 45%.

Bluevia will operate and deploy a fiber network in the less populated rural areas of Spain with low overlap with the fiber networks of other operators. Bluevia will expand its network to cover up to 5 million homes and businesses by 2024.
