No, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau has not tested positive for Covid-19. The journalist will however not resume the antenna this Monday on TF1: she suffers from an “ophthalmic problem”, as she announced on Twitter. She will be replaced for a few days by Jacques Legros.
Marie-Sophie Lacarrau took over from Jean-Pierre Pernaut a year ago, at the helm of the much-watched TF1 mid-day JT: according to figures communicated by Médiamétrie, the former journalist from France Télévisions and host of the show Wonders is watched by an average of 4.96 million viewers during the lunch break, or an audience share of 40.6% over the four years and over.
If, on Twitter, the journalist did not want to go into too much detail, the 40-year-old from Aveyron was however reassuring about her state of health, suggesting that there was nothing serious.
The 8 p.m. news takes off during the holidays
Last week, the 8 pm newscast presented by Julien Arnaud achieved its best weekly performance of the season, according to a press release from TF1. This edition attracted an average of 6.3 million viewers over the week.
Note that the 20 hours of TF1 achieved its best performance over the Christmas period for ten years at 27.9% on average over the two weeks of vacation.
