Television: private channels want to weigh in on the debate on the missions of public channels – 2023-05-19 at 16:00

(AOF) – The Association of Private Channels (ACP), bringing together TF1, M6, Altice (BFMTV etc.) and Canal+, issued a press release to relaunch the debate on the missions of public channels as they are currently negotiating their missions with the State shareholder. Founded in 2008, the ACP “unambiguously supports the role of public service television as well as its current level of funding” but “requests clarification of the rules so that everyone can best fulfill their missions within a framework of balanced competition” .

“In a particularly competitive television advertising market, the ACP finally asks that the rules be reaffirmed and cannot be circumvented, in particular with regard to advertising on digital applications or the ban on advertising after 8 p.m. on public channels. “, underlines the organization, considering that “its proposals can only reinforce the important role of public and private investment in French creation”.
