The Minister of Labor said Thursday that the government wishes to be able to sanction with an administrative fine of up to 1,000 euros per employee companies not playing the telework game to fight against the Covid-19 epidemic.

The government wants to be able to sanction with an administrative fine of up to 1,000 euros per employee, up to a limit of 50,000 euros, companies not playing the game of telework to fight against the Covid-19 epidemic, announced Thursday the Minister of Labor, Elisabeth Borne, on LCI. An amendment to the bill on the vaccine pass will be tabled by the end of the week, said his entourage.

“We see that most companies play the game very well (…) We have a few companies which do not, which do not follow the recommendations of the labor inspectorate, and which take advantage of the length of the procedure sanction for not respecting the rules, ”she explained.

“A faster and therefore more dissuasive system”

“I want a faster and therefore more dissuasive system by allowing the labor inspectorate to be able to impose sanctions without waiting for the legal procedure. We are going to introduce an amendment (…) providing for the possibility for the labor inspectorate to pronounce sanctions of up to 1000 euros per employee whose situation is not in conformity, within the limit of 50,000 euros “, continued the minister.

Prime Minister Jean Castex announced on Monday the obligation to extend teleworking to three or four days a week, “for all employees for whom it is possible”, from January 3 and for a period of three weeks. A new national company protocol reflecting this change must be published today Thursday.
