Tencent cancels NieR mobile game project – Gamosaurus

For almost two years, Tencent has been developing a new mobile game for the series Deny. Sources even indicated that a playable internal demo had been released and showed some of the combat gameplay as well as the game’s story.

Unfortunately for fans of the franchise, the title will never see the light of day, Tencent having preferred to stop its development. Indeed, the company would not have succeeded in finding an economic model that could compensate for the high costs of this mobile version.

Another reason given was that Tencent refused to pay royalties of more than 10% to the owners of intellectual property for the mobile adaptation. Royalties which are more generally around 15 to 20%. The new game
Deny in preparation remaining too costly to operate is therefore put in the closet.

Remember that there is already a mobile game in the series, NieR Re[in]skin tone published by Square Enix. However, the title will close its doors on April 29 after more than two years of service. Players will also be able to enjoy the latest chapter The People and the World before officially saying goodbye to mobile gaming.
