It should herald the big comeback of the cinema scene in about a month. Christopher Nolan's (49, "Memento") film "Tenet" will continue to do so, but not as planned on July 16. Film studio Warner Bros. has postponed the blockbuster release with John David Washington (35) and Robert Pattinson (34) in the USA by two weeks to July 31 – so a new date for July 30 is likely in this country. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
The slight shift, admittedly, is significant because "Tenet" was the last film to be relied on for the original release, despite the corona pandemic. The fact that this had to be postponed shows that the film industry is still not completely certain whether a restart before the end of July is possible or even economically sensible.
Waiting for "Wonder Woman"
Meanwhile, Wonder Woman alias Gal Gadot (35) is a heroine who should be used to being patient. Warner has already donated the fourth new launch date to Warner, which means that the last announced August 13th will be nothing. Instead Gadot wrote via Twitterthat October 2 is now the new theatrical release in the USA – probably October 1 in Germany.
The biggest leap backwards was Warner's untitled part four of the "Matrix" saga. From May 21, 2021, the sci-fi strip was moved by almost a year to April 1, 2022. "Godzilla vs. Kong", which should have started in 2020, should now appear on its original date.
