At the clay court tournament in Warsaw, Viktorija Golubic (WTA 103) reached a quarterfinal on the WTA tour for the fourth time this season. The woman from Zurich prevailed against the French Kristina Mladenovic (WTA 116) 6: 7 (4: 7), 6: 2, 6: 1. Golubic led 2-0 and 5-3 in the starting set, but had to go into a tie-break. There she gambled away a 3:1 advantage by conceding 5 points in a row to her opponent. Despite this setback, Golubic clearly dominated the further sets against Mladenovic, who made a total of 14 double faults. In the quarterfinals, the Swiss meets Jasmine Paolini (WTA 58) from Italy.
