On September 12th, Novak Djokovic missed his 21st Grand Slam title in New York. He is subject to the Russian Daniil Medvedev (25, ATP 2) in the final of the US Open. Then the Serb withdraws from the tour and gives himself and his body a break.
This break now ends. The 34-year-old competes in the Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy next week. And that in two ways. The world number 1 plays in singles and doubles alongside compatriot Filip Krajinovic (29).
While Djokovic enjoys a bye in the singles at the beginning, he has to start in the doubles already in the starting round. The first opponents are the two Australians Alex De Minaur (22) and Luke Saville (27). (bir)
