Tennis player Alizé Cornet will publish a first novel

Tennis player Alizé Cornet will publish her first novel in May, she revealed in the columns of Nice-Matin. The plot is not yet known.

“I’m preparing my post-career, which will be devoted a lot to writing (…) because I love it,” explained the player, ranked 61st in the world. “The first novel comes out in May, I don’t think it will be my last.”

This work, published by Flammarion editions, “has no connection with tennis”, she specified. Before adding: “I can’t speak [du thème] otherwise my editor will slap me on the wrist”.

Alizé Cornet is already the author of an autobiography, “Without compromise”, published in 2020 by Amphora editions. The 32-year-old Niçoise also announced that she had already written “a second novel”.

Alizé Cornet, who plans to end her tennis career soon, played her very first Grand Slam quarter-final at the Australian Open on January 23. She was beaten by American Danielle Collins. “The good result in Australia gave me a good boost,” commented the Niçoise. “If I go up very high in the standings, it will be hard to stop. I’m not closing the door to anything. I’m giving it my all this season and we’ll see behind it.”
