Tennis: Shock in Geneva, Djokovic defeated by Machac in the semi-final

by Sebastien Salpietro (iDalgo)

Two days before Roland Garros, Novak Djokovic was not reassured after his defeat against Tomas Machac in the semi-final of the ATP Geneva this Friday (6 – 4, 0 – 6, 6 – 1). The first set was rather tight between the two solid players on their play but the Serb ended up giving up two services when he could lead 5 – 2. He then recovered well by inflicting a blank set on his opponent thanks to his efficiency on his first serve (11/17 pts). Unfortunately, the world number one sank in the last round with only 33% of points on the second serve. Not enough to hope for victory today.
