TERACT becomes a mission company

(Boursier.com) — In accordance with its commitments, recalled on the occasion of the publication of the annual results on October 19, TERACT proposed to its General Assembly meeting today and which adopted it the change of its status as a company with a mission, with the raison d’être of “acting so that everyone has access to the benefits of nature”.

Noticing every day the growing need to thoroughly review human modes of production and consumption, TERACT has already equipped itself within the framework of the PACTE Law with a reason for being in line with its ambition to redefine the future of distribution in its sectors of activity: garden/pet centers and responsible food distribution. For the company, its employees and all its stakeholders, this is a strong commitment to build, disseminate and make accessible to the greatest number of people and in all territories an offer of responsible products and services as well as ‘a powerful and lasting connection with nature.

Today’s adoption of the status of a mission company is a strong decision by the company and its shareholders, which now gives it the means to concretely deploy the 3 axes of its CSR strategy and the 8 commitments and objectives to be achieved by to 2030 that result from this.

These 3 axes revolve around the construction of a range of healthy and responsible products and services by providing access to them, the conduct of activities according to practices respectful of the well-being of people and the environment and finally the mobilization employees and stakeholders in the regions to achieve the group’s societal ambition and meet new consumer expectations.
For the years to come, the main objectives and commitments resulting from this approach are as follows1
:

*50% fewer workplace accidents compared to 2020

A Mission Committee, whose members will be appointed at the beginning of 2024, has also been set up to ensure monitoring of these objectives, and to monitor the progress of the company’s various projects.
An Independent Third Party Organization will also be mandated to audit the implementation of these actions and guarantee the status of a mission company.

Moez-Alexandre Zouari, Managing Director of TERACT declared: “I am proud of our decision, validated by our shareholders, to adopt the status of a mission company for TERACT. This is a major step forward for our future actions, which will find themselves more enriched and more carrying meaning and values. It reinforces the raison d’être of TERACT, “acting so that everyone has access to the benefits of nature”; it also commits our desire to participate actively and concretely in the evolution of specialized and food distribution towards a model more respectful of people and nature, with the aim of sustainable preservation of our resources.”
