Terracotta eyes: Queen Letizia's favorite look

Warning, now it's getting bronzy. No matter whether on Instagram, the catwalks of this world or on the streets at home: everywhere we see subtly shimmering eyelids in reddish-earthy shades. This trend is not new, but HOW we put our eyes on it NOW. Because true beauty connoisseurs now swear by a mono look that only needs one eye shadow color and has already won a fan in the top league with Queen Letizia. We'll show you how you can easily make up the trend.

Terracotta Eyes is perhaps the most beautiful beauty trend of the summer – and it is definitely the simplest. And it comes to us as it should, because hand on heart: We love large eye shadow palettes, but how many colors do we really use in the end? In addition to his blue-blooded follower, stars such as actress Joey King (The Kissing Booth) or the influencer girls from "The Daily Dose" also rely on the makeup trend.

Who is it?

In principle, reddish shades of brown are available for every eye color – whether blue, brown or green. The latter come out particularly well thanks to terracotta tones. This also takes advantage of Spain's Queen Letizia. She swears by reddish eye shadows. In general, the lighter your skin tone, the more subtle it should be on the eyelid. So if you are more of a snow white type, you will find delicate tones in apricot. Strong colors only make you pale unnecessarily.

Tanned beauties, on the other hand, can confidently venture to strong tones, because they make a sun-kissed complexion shine even more.

This is how the makeup trend succeeds

The motto is: less is more! The mono look with only one color saves complex blending and looks ultra natural. Depending on whether it should be a little more glamorous, matt or shimmering products can be used. The following applies here: the stronger the selected color, the more accurate work should be done. For an even and sharp edge, you can help with adhesive strips or eyeshadow stencils. To intensify the look even more, Letizia likes to wear red-brown eyeliner on the lower lash line – a trick that we will definitely learn from!

Important: For the look to work, you should also stay with the rest of your make-up in the color family. So also use terracotta tones for cheeks and lips.
