Terrain touched – rescue helicopter had to make an emergency landing during the operation

Moment of shock for the crew of the rescue helicopter “Christophorus 1” on Sunday afternoon in Innsbruck! In the course of an operation at Hafelekar, a rotor blade came into contact with the terrain. The helicopter was able to make an emergency landing safely at the airport.

Actually, the ÖAMTC flight rescuers were supposed to rescue a patient from the Hafelekar, but suddenly things got dicey. “A rotor blade came into contact with the terrain,” according to the ÖAMTC. Helicopters from the Ministry of the Interior jumped in. The experienced crew was finally able to land the helicopter safely at nearby Innsbruck Airport. The rescue of the patient from the Hafelekar was taken over by the Interior Ministry’s helicopter.
