Between November 2019 and March 2020, two rival gangs clashed for control of drug trafficking in the Republican Reconquest (QRR) district of Planoise. This gang war had given rise to 18 episodes of exchanges of fire, leaving eleven injured, including minors, and a 23-year-old dead. The investigation into this homicide is still ongoing.

Two brothers, who were in detention at the time, are suspected of being the main sponsors and organizers of the first team. According to the investigations carried out jointly by the judicial police and the departmental security of Besançon, they were directing drug trafficking from their place of detention.
