Tesco: retail sales up 5.7% in Q3

(CercleFinance.com) – Tesco announces that its retail sales increased by 5.7% in the 3rd quarter, with an increase of 12.3% in Central Europe (its highest performance for many years), and +5 .2% in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

In the UK, Tesco maintains a strong market share at 27.5%, and becomes the only retailer to have increased its market share compared to pre-pandemic.

Against this backdrop, Tesco confirms its guidance for FY22/23 of retail adjusted operating profit of between £2.4bn and £2.5bn and retail free cash flow of at least £1.8 billion.

“I’m really pleased with our performance over this period, particularly the continued strong growth over Christmas on top of the exceptional growth of recent years,” said Ken Murphy, CEO of Tesco.
