Tesla’s autonomous driving has not finished talking about it, despite its lack of availability in Europe for the moment. Indeed, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has recently tweeted that Canada would be able to benefit, like the United States, from the FSD in beta within two to four weeks. A glimmer of hope for us Europeans?
A new (minor) update rolled out
Today, the Fully Self-Driving – or FSD – beta capability is only available to Tesla drivers in the US who have shown their credentials and proven that their driving is good enough to preview software features. in development.
While its price increases again and again, without development being advanced enough for everyone to benefit from it, updates continue to be rolled out to the fleet of beta testers on a regular basis.

It’s version 10.9 which has just been released, with quite detailed release notes which, in essence, promise a more humane and comfortable ride for the occupants. The complicated intersections where several lanes going in both directions must be crossed, something that remains largely perfectible in the current versions of the FSD, have in particular been reviewed. The vehicle will move into the middle lane (used to give way) as soon as it can, then wait its turn to pass through traffic and turn.
Canada will soon be served
The real announcement today, following the deployment of this version 10.9, is indeed that the FSD beta program will be extended to Canada, showing a little more hope of seeing Europe finally served as well. Even if, as we know, deep differences remain between the Old Continent and North America in terms of laws relating to autonomous driving.
It will take, in our opinion, more time before the regulations evolve in our country.
Within two to four weeks according to the eternal optimist Elon Musk, the first versions of the FSD in beta will be available in Canada, which is the country closest to the United States at the level of the Highway Code, explaining the reason for which it will be served first. Owners will undoubtedly, as is the case in the USA, have a fairly high safety score to be able to take advantage of it.
