Since this Sunday, January 1, 2023, the government has applied some changes to obtaining the ecological bonus. From now on, this financial boost is only available for electric vehicles costing less than €47,000. In addition, the total weight of the vehicle must be under the 2.4 ton mark.
In addition, the maximum amount has also been revised downwards. Formerly set at 6,000 euros, it is now €5,000 (€6,000 for the purchase of an electric van). In addition, the government has given up on the various levels. While it used to be possible to get a €2,000 aid for electric cars over €47,000 and a €1,000 boost for a plug-in hybrid, this is no longer the case.
Obviously, these new rules have consequences, and not the least. With this scale, no more new Tesla models are eligible for the ecological bonus. Even the Tesla Model Y Propulsion, the cheapest reference in the French catalog, is now off the charts (the catalog price is set at €49,990).

No eco bonus, but discounts on the bill
It now remains to be hoped that the manufacturer will make discounts on these most affordable models to drop again below the €47,000 mark. Unfortunately, that’s not really the American business style.
Despite everything, we know that since December 2022, Tesla has made “tariff readjustments” (in any case, this is the term used on the official site) on certain Model Y and Model 3. In reality, these are copies with less than 50 kilometers on the clock, or exhibition models. On several Model Ys, this discount reaches €3,000.
Unfortunately, there are no more Model Ys at €49,990 in stock. Fact, no sold-out vehicle goes below the €47,000 mark, the sine qua num condition for obtaining the ecological bonus. On the Model 3, the gratuity is also €3,000. On some copies, the reduction can even exceed €4,000. But beware, these cars already have several hundred kilometers on the clock.
