Ordering a Tesla car today has never been so complicated. So much so that Elon Musk explained that Tesla could stop taking orders for certain models of its electric vehicles. Prices are increasing, but so are delivery times.

These very long delivery times can be explained by several reasons. First, the global shortage of components is a reality, it puts production lines in difficulty. This shortage is caused by the pandemic, but also the war in Ukraine. But there’s also a rush into electric cars as the technology gains momentum – both naturally, as they become more commonplace, and, more directly, because of the rising price of gasoline.

More price increases

Since the beginning of the year, Tesla has sharply increased the prices of some of its models, in particular the entry-level Model 3 Propulsion. This time, it is the Long Range and Performance models of the Model 3 that are subject to a price increase. In Long Autonomy, we go from 58,990 euros to 59,990 euros, or 1000 euros increase. The Performance model, meanwhile, goes from 62,990 euros to 64,990 euros, or 2,000 euros increase.

The Long Autonomy version still benefits from the ecological bonus, but you cannot change anything on the standard model. For that price, the Model Y is very comparable, depending on your roominess needs.

Delivery times have also changed, only the Model 3 Performance can be received this year if you place an order today. It’s the entry-level Propulsion is the worst off, you have to wait until June 2023. Even for those who have already placed orders, many buyers are complaining about delays that are getting longer without a precise explanation. .
