Tesla: Cybertruck will enter production in June 2023, the yoke steering wheel will be offered as standard

The yoke was not unanimous among Tesla owners. This does not prevent the American company from extending its availability to other models of the brand. The Cybertruck, in particular, could be equipped with the already famous rectangular steering wheel when it is released in summer 2023.

In an interview with “Ride the Lightning”, a podcast dedicated to Tesla news, Franz von Holzhausen, the brand’s design directorunveiled some details about the Cybertruck, the futuristic SUV from Tesla Motors, the first models of which should be visible on the roads by June or July 2023.

I looks back on the evolution of its design, and on the yoke, this rectangular steering wheel whose ergonomics divides opinions, especially. While Tesla is once again offering the circular steering wheel as standard in its Model S and X, it will be optional in the Cybertruck. Me Von Holzhausen does not specify whether or not they will have to pay to obtain a “normal” steering wheel.

Similarly, we learn that the Cybertruck will, in reality, be less imposing than the prototype presented so far and that bodywork will be stainless steel only. No protective layer will be applied to it. If you happen to get a scratch, its designers have already planned a way to eradicate it and give your SUV its very special “finish”.

The Cybertruck is one of the most anticipated cars in the world, and Tesla should stick to the schedule set last year. Production should begin in less than six months, for a launch planned between mid-June and mid-July 2023. Me Von Holzhausen is more evasive when the conversation comes to the subject of the price of the Cybertruck. Tesla prices change frequently depending on the economic and political context. The company’s leaders are therefore reluctant to be too assertive on this subject. In the opinion of experts, however, the production costs of the American brand are currently falling. The Cybertruck could be priced just under $45,000.
