The manufacturer Tesla is very close to the million vehicles delivered per year. In the last quarter of 2021, he in any case broke a new personal best.

If Tesla had a somewhat tumultuous end to the year by recalling some 700,000 vehicles in the United States and China due to potentially defective trunks, the company celebrated the transition to 2022 with good news. Elon Musk’s firm announced on Monday that it had sold a record number of vehicles in the last quarter and flirted with one million over the whole of 2021, even exceeding the expectations of professionals.

Tesla production and delivery levels never reached

Despite the semiconductor crisis, Tesla is maintaining its cruising speed. In the fourth quarter of 2021, Elon Musk’s firm reached record levels, both in terms of production and deliveries.

In Q4, Tesla announced that it had produced a total of 305,840 units and delivered 308,600 vehicles. Regarding deliveries, the Model 3 and Model Y represent a very large share, modestly 96%. The Model S and Model X only account for 3.8% of deliveries in the last quarter of the year, due to their only availability in North America, at the moment. The shares are also the same, on the production side: 13 109 Model S and X, 292 731 Model 3 and Y.

Regarding production and deliveries for the whole of 2021, Tesla has also panicked its own meters. The manufacturer produced 930,422 vehicles (24,390 Model S and X, 906,032 Model 3 and Y), for a total of 930,422 units. The company also delivered a record number of vehicles in 2021, with 936,172 cars: in retail 911,208 Model 3 and Y, 24,964 Model S and X.

A remarkable development between 2020 and 2021

Between 2021 and 2020, the evolution of Tesla is quite remarkable. By 2020, the company had produced 509,737 units and delivered 499,550 vehicles. A year later, you will have understood that the Texan company has done almost twice as good, thus chaining a sixth consecutive quarter of record deliveries. Its deliveries have statistically increased by 87% between 2020 and 2021, which obviously enchants managers, and pleasantly surprises professionals and observers.

Thank you to all of our customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and supporters who helped us have a great year ”Said the company, which has made progress despite a lingering global semiconductor shortage.

From now on, it is Tesla’s financial results that are particularly expected. The company warns, however, that “ Tesla vehicle deliveries are only a measure of the company’s financial performance and should not be taken as an indicator of quarterly financial results, which depend on various factors including cost of sales, currency movements and the combination of directly rented vehicles “.
