At the end of last year, the American company presented us with the second generation of its Optimus robot, which notably displayed better dexterity (and 10 kilos less!). The 2020 decade could well be exceptional for humanity at the technological level. We have thus seen artificial intelligence emerge since the appearance of the ChatGPT phenomenon. And with Tesla, humanoid robots could quickly begin to become a part of our lives.
Elon Musk is indeed confident in the possibility of quickly seeing these devices arrive on the market. Reuters we learn that, during a conference call with investors held this week, the American billionaire announced to them that the robots could begin to be sold at the end of 2025.
Tesla must deal with the competition
An announcement that would put Tesla in pole position in this area. “ I believe Tesla is best positioned of all humanoid robot manufacturers to achieve volume production with effective inference on the robot itself » said the businessman.
However, the American giant must face some competition. Figure AI, a Silicon Valley start-up supported by giants like Nvidia and OpenAI, has already shown enough results for its Figure 01 robot to be integrated into BMW’s production process in the future.
For its part, Boston Dynamics presented last week a rather disconcerting Atlas robot capable of taking contortionist positions inaccessible to humans, thanks to joints that can turn in all directions. Will we soon live in the world of I, Robot?
