The American manufacturer Tesla announced on Wednesday a price drop of 3,000 euros on the Tesla Model Y, its flagship vehicle, to fight competition in France from Peugeot and Renault.

Tesla, which has sold a record number of 1.81 million electric vehicles worldwide, has decided to make the Model Y even more affordable in France. Because Elon Musk’s manufacturer is now far from being the only one to offer electric SUVs in France, it is being pushed to lower the price of its Tesla Model Y, which has just fallen to 42,990 euros, or 37 990 euros once the ecological bonus is applied.

Tesla back in the game of the cheapest electric SUVs in France

Last year, the Tesla Model Y sold 37,127 copies, occupying the position of best-selling electric car in France. Its price, which until now was 45,990 euros, has just fallen to 42,990 euros, which places the vehicle among the most competitive options on the market.

It must be said that Tesla must face competition from French brands and in particular from Renault Scénic E-Tech, which starts at 39,990 euros or 46,990 euros for the so-called “High autonomy” version. We don’t forget Peugeot and the E-3008, offered at 45,990 euros. As for foreign manufacturers, the Volkswagen ID.4 Pro 286 starts at 43,990 euros.

With this price reduction, Tesla is repositioning itself and succeeds in making its flagship product more affordable and often less expensive than its competitors, without compromising the quality of its vehicle.

The American manufacturer stacks records in Europe

It is not only in France that the Tesla Model Y is successful. The vehicle became the best-selling car in its category in several European countries, and it even broke a sales record in Denmark by becoming the best-selling car in a year since 1986. In Iceland, the brand was the most popular , breaking a 33-year-old record!

In addition to its commercial success, the Model Y offers a complete experience to European motorists. With access to more than 14,000 Tesla Superchargers and a host of convenient features, Model Y meets the needs of drivers seeking a sustainable and efficient driving solution.

While things aren’t always perfect, this holistic approach helps solidify Tesla’s reputation as a pioneer in the electric vehicle industry.
