Electric car manufacturer Tesla has to recall 3,878 Cybertrucks in the USA. According to the US technology blog The Verge, these are all the models that the company has delivered since the market launch of the long-awaited electric car in November 2023.

The reason for this is the use of a lubricant, according to a statement from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The US federal agency is responsible for road and vehicle safety.

Apparently, when the accelerator pedal is installed, residues of the aforementioned lubricant remain on the pedal. This can cause the panel to separate from the pedal and become wedged in the interior, causing the accelerator pedal to spin almost constantly. The following TikTok video illustrates the problem.

According to The Verge, Tesla is not yet aware of any accidents that could be attributed to the defect. Tesla now wants to repair the accelerator pedal in the recalled vehicles. The company has already changed production so that the error should no longer occur in future models.
